Joel M. Busch, CPA, EA, ATA, ATP, MST, is the Principal of The JW Group - a comprehensive tax services firm based in Aptos, California. 

Joel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who works directly with individual and business clients in multiple states for all of their income, sales/use, property, estate and gift tax needs.

With over 14 years of trusted professional tax experience he has provided substantial tax saving solutions to his clients.  

Prior to The JW Group Joel was a Senior Tax Analyst at Granite Construction Inc., one of the largest engineering and mining firms in the United States.

At Granite Construction he was responsible for providing crucial tax planning and money-saving solutions to executive management, business managers, office managers, engineers, financial personnel and numerous other departments throughout the organization all over the country.



Joel M. Busch is also an Enrolled Agent and as such is admitted to practice and enrolled to represent taxpayers before the IRS.

Enrolled Agents are the only practitioners who are required to demonstrate competence specifically in matters of taxation and they are the only taxpayer representatives who receive that right from the U.S. government, rather than from individual states.

Joel became an Enrolled Agent after passing a rigorous and examination on his first attempt.

He holds the following credentials from the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation:

• Accredited Tax Preparer® (ATP)

In addition Joel is a proud member of the following professional associations:

Joel received both a Bachelor of Science in Business / Accounting (cum laude) and a Master of Science in Taxation degree from San Jose State University.
